This is just a short note on school conferences as some people are daunted by the idea of organizing a school conference.
First, let’s define what we mean by a school conference. My definition is an event where two or more students stand up and present papers about an issue which they have researched in some way. This is the minimum, and of course from this minimum, a conference may range up to a large, multi-school, international event with many more participants.
A conference will also:
- have a title and theme
- will take place on a specific date
- will be a formal event
- will involve an audience
- can be face to face or online
This is the essence of a conference. The secret is to start small and make things bigger and better as you gain experience.
